I realize at work we are not judged by how great we are doing on an every day basis, we are measured by those moments of adversity. That will also be a sign of your greatness in life. How you challenge yourself and how you handle those adversities.
Well if you look at it from the other side, if you weren't being judged on how well you were doing on a regular basis, you'd be out of a job. I think society is so full of people who expect things to be handed to them that working hard and being a truly good person has become the exception not the norm. There are so many people who expect to be praised for doing what they should. When it comes to the workplace, I feel its even more black and white. You are getting paid to be at your best. If you don't measure up to expectations, you get fired. And hopefully if you are proven to go above and beyond expectations, you might get a bonus at the end of the year. In your personal life, its a little more grey, but if you surround yourself with people who love you unconditionally and will stand by you in both times of success as well as times of adversity, what more could you ask for?
Work wise you definitely get paid to be at your best but I think the minute something goes a rye all you did sort of goes out the window. Plus make no mistake I think work is like life cause in the end result your still dealing with people. So even at work people try to get something for nothing, they always want you to go the extra mile.
